Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names including: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads with these equipment. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely handy pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
